Practical Ergonomics Risk Assessment in Construction
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) in conjunction with the CIF Safety Week are presenting a series of webinars on Practical Ergonomics Risk Assessment in Construction. Our Group Health & Safety Manager Emmet Hynes will be one of the webinar speakers showcasing our procedures on eliminating manual handling from Stone Cladding installations. This Ergonomic Good Practice Case Study demonstrates our practical approach to risk assessment and problem solving through worker consultation and consequently reducing worker injury and fatigue significantly and is available on the HSA website.
Emmet speaks about moving away from the traditional methods and exploring new systems of installing stone cladding in the workplace. The Lifter/Grab system has been introduced and this new system eliminates the potential risk of injury and proves to be a more effective solution to risk exposure.
Attendees will gain an understanding of the importance of new innovative solutions and the dangers of musculoskeletal disorders in the Construction Sector.
