Turning of the Sod Ceremony for Edmund Rice College, Carpenterstown.
Our team were delighted to welcome the Tánaiste, Leo Varadkar and the Minister for Education, Norma Foley yesterday to the site of our new school building for Edmund Rice College, Carpenterstown, Dublin 15.
The Tánaiste led the Turning of the Sod ceremony for the new school together with the Minister for Education. Also in attendance were; the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman; the Minister of State for Sport and Gaeltacht, Jack Chambers; School Principal, Brendan Harrington along with staff and students of Edmund Rice College.
This Design & Build project will see the construction of a new 11,265sq.m, part three-storey, part two-storey post primary school including four special needs units, a PE hall, and teaching and staff facilities.
It was great for our project team of; Gerard Mooney, Fiona McGarry, Martin O’Neill, Peter Nolan, Mike Gill, Ken Rooney, Tommy Higgins and Alan Dowling to meet with the Tánaiste and Ministers along with staff and students to show the progress that’s been made on site. Once complete it will be a state-of-the-art new secondary school accommodating 1,000 students for Dublin 15.
