Works comprised of part demolition of the existing hospital and the construction of a three storey building extension. The project also included the refurbishment of part of the existing operational hospital.

The extension consisted of two levels of 51-bed units, ground level physiotherapy unit, multi-purpose room, isolation rooms, nurses’ stations, offices, meeting rooms, canteen, and restaurant, etc, to include associated medical facilities. The building structure was reinforced concrete frame with flat slab on piled foundations. The external of the building included elements of curtain wall, glazing and stone cladding.
