The project consisted of the construction of a new, part two-storey and part three-storey post-primary school, together with temporary classrooms for the duration of the works.
The new school comprised of 16 general classrooms, 2 science labs, 2 computer labs, construction studies room, art room, design & graphics, home economics room, engineering room, a multi-media lab, a staff room, and all associated offices, stores and toilets.
" As the principal of Clifden Community School it gave me great confidence to work with such an experienced, co-operative and supportive main contractor. I particularly wish to acknowledge the flexibility, and willingness to engage, of JJR at all times during the build. The school was kept informed of all stages of the development and consulted in a very timely and appropriate way. The manner in which the build progressed, given that the old school remained in session throughout the construction period, was respectful and mindful of the pupils, staff and work of the school and disruption was minimal. Our school serves students from West Connemara stretching from Cashel and Maam to Ballyconneely, Renvyle and Inishbofin. The finished state of the art school is something of which the whole community and all involved can be really proud. "
